BNAC of KAPsi Fraternity, Inc. Hosts Children’s Book Drive
The Bloomington-Normal Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, held a Children’s Book Drive to coincide with Kappa Cares, the event aimed to promote literacy and foster a love of reading among young students in the community.
The book drive brought together fraternity members, local residents, and community organizations, all working toward the shared goal of enriching local elementary school libraries. The goal was to collect new and gently used books, ranging from classic storybooks to educational texts and diverse titles reflecting the experiences of young readers in the Bloomington-Normal area.
“This book drive represented our commitment to supporting the education and development of children in our community,” said chapter member Keith Baker. “Literacy is the foundation for lifelong learning, and it’s our hope that these books will inspire a new generation of readers.”
The books were distributed to several local schools. Teachers and administrators noted the intent of the donation was to help fill gaps in classroom libraries and provide students with greater access to quality reading materials.
The Children’s Book Drive was a part of Kappa Alpha Psi’s larger commitment to social and academic excellence through its Guide Right program, which focuses on mentorship and education for young people
